Keep these in mind while looking to buy a dog that belongs to this breed.

Sociable Temperament:

Siberian Husky is a dog that enjoys being around other dogs. Huskies are highly affectionate towards their owners. However, they wouldn’t look at a stranger approaching suspiciously too. They would be happy to extent his affection towards these potential friends. They enjoy playing with other dogs as well.

Level of Intelligence:

Siberian Huskies are intelligent dogs. They come in the 45th position as per Stanley Coren’s The Intelligence of Dogs. These dogs are eager to please the owner and therefore are willing to be trained. Also, if made subject to the right training, Siberian huskies make hard and efficient workers. This behavioral pattern can be seen as one of the reasons the predecessors of this breed was used by Chukchi Tribe.

Obedience:

The one important thing that needs to be kept in mind is obedience. They will not agree to obey a command until and unless they are convinced. No amount of cajoling will work until they feel they need to obey the command. These dogs are not quite the obedient dogs. They don’t choose to perform a task that they aren’t interested in. They are not keen to obey the commands that they dislike doing too. We can safely say they are average obedient dogs.

Playfulness:

If there is a dog that would love to play at any time of the day, it would be a Siberian Husky. Siberian Huskies have a lot of energy that they need to expend frequently. They enjoy going for long walks and playing. It’s necessary to engage the Huskies in physically and mentally stimulating exercises. They can easily get bored in absence of these exercises.

Preying Instincts:

The inborn preying instincts in Siberian Huskies are quite strong. Therefore, they tend to chase any cats, rabbits or rodents that might come his way. It would be a good idea to keep them on a tight leash. They have a tendency to run which brings us to the next point.

Runners:

Siberian Huskies were used to pull sleighs because they were good runners. They could cover long distances while using minimum energy. And this is one strait that is still commonly found. If given a chance, the Huskies will try to run. When they run, they do it quite fast and they can easily disappear. It’s a good idea to take them to open spaces where they can run to their hearts’ content.

Diggers:

It is noted that Siberian Huskies enjoy digging holes as a pastime. It would be a good idea to have a lawn filled with holes.
